How to Type in Tamil Without a Tamil Keyboard

Want to send a message, write a post, or fill in a form in Tamil - but your phone or laptop is set up only for English? You don't need to install a Tamil keyboard or learn a new key layout. Phonetic transliteration lets you type Tamil the way it sounds, using the English letters you already know.

How transliteration works

You type a Tamil word the way it is pronounced in English letters, and the tool converts it to the correct Tamil script as you go. For example:
