Salary Calculator

Break down annual CTC into components and estimate your monthly in-hand salary (approximate).

Approximate model: Basic 40% of CTC, HRA 50% of basic, PF 12% of basic, gratuity 4.81% of basic. Verify with payslip.

Salary Calculator

The Salary Calculator converts your annual CTC into an estimated in-hand monthly take-home figure by accounting for provident fund, professional tax, and other standard deductions.

Why CTC is not take-home

Cost to Company (CTC) includes everything an employer spends on you - basic pay, allowances, employer PF contribution, gratuity, and bonuses. Your actual in-hand pay is lower because of employee PF, professional tax, and income tax (TDS). The calculator strips these out to estimate what actually reaches your bank account.

The main deductions

Because structures vary by employer, use the result as a close estimate and check your payslip for exact figures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my in-hand salary less than my CTC?

CTC includes employer contributions and benefits that never reach your account, plus your pay is reduced by PF, professional tax, and income tax.

How much PF is deducted?

Employee provident fund is usually 12% of basic salary, with a matching employer contribution that is part of CTC.

Does it calculate income tax too?

It estimates tax deductions to arrive at take-home pay. For a detailed tax comparison, use the Income Tax Calculator.

Will the figure exactly match my payslip?

It is a close estimate. Exact deductions depend on your employer's salary structure and benefit choices.
